Buying a home · With Geraldine Inoue

Find a home.
Understand the choice.

A property can catch your eye in a moment. Feeling comfortable with the decision takes a little more work. I’ll help you turn a list of possibilities into a shortlist with clear reasons behind it.

Where we’ll start

Start with the move you want to make.

Before we arrange viewings, I’d like to understand what you’re hoping will change. Do you need to be nearer family? Is a particular school shaping the search? Are you buying a first home, or choosing somewhere for a different stage of life?

We’ll put those priorities alongside your intended timing and the financial boundaries you’ve established. That gives us a useful starting point for deciding which properties deserve your attention.

How I can help

Work through it,
one step at a time.

01

Give your priorities an order.

A school, an MRT connection and a familiar neighbourhood may all matter. Decide which requirements are essential and where you have some flexibility. If two homes offer different advantages, this helps us compare them honestly.

02

Compare actual homes, not just project names.

Look at the particular unit, its total asking price, facing, condition or planned specifications, and the alternatives available. For a new launch, distinguish what is shown in the presentation from what is confirmed in the sale documents.

03

Make each viewing answer a question.

Before we go, agree what we need to learn. Afterwards, write down what worked, what did not, and what still needs checking. A good viewing should make the next decision clearer.

04

Check the practical pieces before committing.

Bring financing questions to your lender and transaction requirements to the appropriate professionals. I’ll help coordinate the property information you need for those conversations, without treating an estimate as an approval.

For our first conversation

A few things
to bring along.

Start with what you have. We can identify the missing pieces together.

  • Areas or developments you’re considering
  • The school or regular journey that matters most
  • Your intended move-in date and any flexibility
  • Your comfortable budget range and financing questions

You may be wondering

A few common questions.

Should I choose a new launch or resale first?

We can begin with both if your plans allow it. Your move-in timing, the actual property and the complete commitment can help narrow the choice. You don’t have to choose a category before understanding the trade-offs.

Can we start before I know exactly where I want to buy?

Yes. Tell me why you’re moving, where you need to travel regularly and what you want the next home to improve. Those details give us somewhere useful to start.

Can you confirm school eligibility from a brochure?

No. The exact address, registration year and applicable MOE requirements need checking. Proximity descriptions do not guarantee admission.
